Energy & field sales

Qualified at the door, tracked to installation.

Long sales cycles with several people touching the same job. SmartCo tracks it from the first knock through consultant survey, finance approval and installation, with commission worked out as it moves.

The problem

Several people, one job. Usually four systems.

Consultants arrive cold

The generator captured the detail; it did not reach the person doing the survey.

Finance status is a phone call

Whether an application is approved lives in somebody's inbox rather than on the job.

Installations tracked separately

Scheduling happens in a different system to the sale, so nobody has one view.

Commission argued monthly

Generator and closer splits reconstructed from exports, weeks after the work.

What the system does

One job record, from knock to commissioning.

Everyone works the same record, so the handover between roles stops losing information.

Lead generation

Capture in the field, fast enough that it actually happens at the door.

  • Door-to-door and telephone capture
  • Territory and round allocation
  • Quick capture for field staff
  • Callback scheduling
  • Source and generator tracking
  • Duplicate detection

Property qualification

The consultant arrives to a qualified job rather than a cold one.

  • Occupancy and tenure
  • Roof type and orientation
  • Existing solar and battery interest
  • Monthly electricity spend
  • Current supplier
  • Property notes and photos

Consultant & finance

The commercial middle of the process, where jobs usually stall.

  • Consultant assignment
  • Survey and assessment
  • Quotation and design
  • Finance application status
  • Approval and decline tracking
  • Contract and signature

Installation

Scheduling connected to the sale rather than parallel to it.

  • Job scheduling
  • Installer assignment
  • Materials and stock against the job
  • Progress and completion
  • Sign-off and handover
  • Post-installation issues

The workflow

From door to commissioned install.

01

Lead generation

Captured at the door or by phone, with property detail taken there and then.

02

Qualification

Occupancy, roof, spend and supplier recorded so the job is assessed before anyone travels.

03

Consultant

Survey, design and quotation against the same record.

04

Finance

Application submitted and status tracked on the job, visible to everyone.

05

Installation

Scheduled, resourced, completed and signed off.

06

Commission

Generator and closer splits calculated automatically from the outcome.

Built to order

Property and energy qualification at the door

Occupancy, roof type, current supplier, monthly spend and product interest captured while the generator is still on the doorstep. Built because consultants were travelling to jobs that were never going to convert.

  • Captured in seconds on a phone, so it gets done rather than skipped
  • Consultant sees the full picture before deciding whether to travel
  • Unqualified jobs filtered before they cost anyone a day
  • Property notes and photos attached to the same record
  • Feeds straight into design and quotation rather than being retyped

The commercial point

A wasted consultant visit costs more than the lead did. Qualifying at the door is the cheapest possible place to disqualify a job.

Pricing for field sales

From £299 a month.

Ten users included, £20 a month for each additional user. Commission matrix, territory management and installation tracking are part of the platform. Supported integrations are configured and maintained as part of the licence.

Common questions

What energy operations ask us.

Can field staff use it on a phone?

Yes. Quick capture is built for one-handed use at a doorstep rather than a desktop form shrunk down.

Does it handle generator and closer commission separately?

Yes. The commission matrix defines the split once and applies it automatically as jobs progress, including where several people touched the same deal.

Can we track materials against a job?

Yes, and for larger operations that extends into full stock and purchasing, which is the Operations plan.

What about territory management?

Rounds and territories can be allocated to generators, with duplicate detection so two people do not work the same street.

Can it integrate with our finance provider?

If they have an API, yes. If they do not, we build around what they do provide. Supported integration work is included with your SmartCo licence; bespoke connector development is scoped separately.
