Magento eCommerce

Your storefront knows what was ordered. Something has to know what happens next.

Magento is built to sell. It is not built to run the installation, the service visit, the compliance record or the commission split that follows the sale. SmartCo connects to Magento so the order becomes the start of an operational workflow rather than the end of a transaction.

Backed by Web Solutions, building Magento and bespoke commerce since 2011.

The gap

Most merchants run two businesses that do not speak to each other.

The store handles catalogue, checkout and payment properly. Then the order is exported, emailed or copied into a spreadsheet, while scheduling, fulfilment, aftercare, warranty and repeat business happen somewhere Magento cannot see. The customer experiences one company, but the staff experience two systems.

The order stops at the warehouse

Anything that needs a person to attend, install, assess or follow up falls out of the system the moment it is dispatched.

Customer history is split in two

Purchase history in Magento, service history in a spreadsheet. Nobody on the phone has both.

Enquiries are not orders

The customer who asks a question before buying is invisible to a platform designed around completed checkouts.

What connects

Magento in front. SmartCo behind.

Orders, customers, enquiries and workflow events move into the CRM, where the rest of the operation already lives.

Orders become workflows

An order arrives as a record that can be assigned, scheduled, approved and tracked to completion, not just marked as shipped.

One customer record

Purchase history, enquiries, service visits, documents and correspondence against the same person, visible to whoever picks up the phone.

Pre-sale enquiries captured

Questions asked before checkout enter the same pipeline as every other lead, instead of sitting in a shared inbox.

Events both ways

Webhooks carry status changes back to the store, so the customer sees progress without anyone emailing an update.

Magento eCommerce connected to the SmartCo CRM platform

Magento + SmartCo CRM

From online store to CRM, one connected customer journey.

Enquiries, orders, customer information, workflow triggers, aftercare and reporting all feed into the SmartCo platform.

Who this is for

Commerce with an operation behind it.

If your orders end at dispatch, a standard Magento setup is probably enough. This is for the merchants whose orders start something.

Common questions

Magento and SmartCo, answered plainly.

Do we have to move off Magento?

No. Magento stays as the storefront. SmartCo sits behind it and takes over once an order or enquiry exists. Nothing about the customer-facing store changes unless you want it to.

Which Magento versions are supported?

Magento 2 via its REST API and webhooks. Older Magento 1 stores can be connected through a bespoke integration, though upgrading is usually the better conversation to have first.

Is the integration charged separately?

No. Supported Magento connector installation and configuration are included with your SmartCo licence. Bespoke integration work is scoped before development.

Can it work alongside Xero or Sage?

Yes, and that is usually the point. Orders from Magento, operational work in SmartCo, and reconciliation into your accounting platform, without anyone re-keying between the three.

We do not have a Magento store yet. Can you build one?

Yes. Web Solutions, our sister company, has been building Magento and bespoke commerce since 2011. Store and CRM can be scoped as one project rather than two.

What happens after the order?

That question is usually where the interesting part of the system lives. Tell us how yours works now.
